Sharing the influences of Camargue and Spanish traditions, Mauguio-Carnon offers a colourful array of festivities all year round.
The bull is the guest star for action packed festivities. Mauguio-Carnon organises bull running events in the Arena and through the streets. An amazing experience, not to be missed.

The traditional village fête in August is the highlight of the season

"La course camarguaise" is a sport where a bull in the arena has prizes (represented by ribbons, rosettes and string) attached to its horns and a "raseteur" has to run in front of or alongside the bull to catch these prizes. This sensational sport, which originated in the early 20th century, is widely practised throughout south east France. It became an official sport in 1975.

The "encierros" (releasing bulls through the streets along an enclosed circuit), "abrivados" (arrival of the bulls from the fields to the Arena) and "bandidos" (bulls are returned to the fields) provide a great show, full of emotion. www.ffcc.info/

Mauguio, is also marked by a strong Spanish influence

In the 1920s Spanish immigrants from the Murcia region fled the depression in Spain and came to set up home in Mauguio.
This community has made an indelible mark on the village and every year, in June, there is a major Spanish festival "La Romeria del Encuentro".  www.romeria.fr

These events, full of character, are accompanied by the other ingredients that make our region so inviting: a gentle lifestyle, gastronomy and conviviality.
As a family, between friends or even alone, come and join in the bowls competitions or the famous Toro piscine (literally, bulls in the pool), enjoy the traditional festivals and travel to the heart of our region’s folklore.
